This interactive incursion celebrates Japanese culture through music, Japanese art and crafts, and traditional Japanese games.
Children will discover the significance of the Japanese New Year Celebration through visuals, singing Oshogatsu song and exploring movements using percussion instruments and performing in small groups.
The highlight of the incursion is creating and decorating their very own Japanese kite (Tako), which they can take home and fly.
Alongside kite-making, kids will also enjoy traditional Japanese games like Fukuwarai (blindfolded face-making), Kami Fuusen (paper balloons), Otedama (beanbag juggling), Ohajiki (a marble-like game), and Ayatori (string figures).
Blending Japanese culture, creativity, and play and exploration, this experience is both fun and memorable!
