Boomerangs and Bullroarers

Nick the Stockman

Sydney & Surrounds

In this fun filled, interactive and hands on workshop kids will learn the art throwing a Boomerang – one that actually works! AND the reasons most don’t!
This will require an oval, park, or field for your kids to participate in this ancient practice.

Indigenous stockmen brought unique skills to the outback. Hear stories about huge cattle stations, blistering hot shearing sheds and how stockmen such as Jim Tjungurrayi, helped open up our country.

Nick will give kids an insight to a number of aboriginal hunting weapons and what they were used for.

Plus, each child will be given the opportunity to decorate and assemble their very own Bullroarer to take home – the original Australian mobile phone, think Crocodile Dundee calling Ernie Dingo!

Highlights

  • Learn to throw a Boomerang
  • Children will decorate and assemble their very own Bullroarer to take home

Nick was fantastic with the children. He was very engaging, and it was great to be finally able to be outside in fine weather! Children loved the boomerang throwing activity :)

Nick the Stockman was a big hit! The children loved having a go with the boomerangs and the whips, as well as making damper. Nick even went out of his way to attempt to make gluten free damper for one of the coeliac children which was extremely appreciated.
